i o n against the Brown Locus Protein

چکیده
The immune system can recognize differentiation antigens that are selectively expressed on malignant cells and their normal cell counterparts. However, it is uncertain whether immunity to differentiation antigens can effectively lead to tumor rejection. The mouse brown locus protein, gp75 or tyrosinase-related protein 1, is a melanocyte differentiation antigen expressed by melanomas and normal melanocytes. The gp75 antigen is recognized by autoantibodies and autoreactive T cells in persons with melanoma. To model autoimmunity against a melanocyte differentiation antigen, mouse antibodies against gp75 were passively transferred into tumorbearing mice. Passive immunization with a mouse monoclonal antibody against gp75 induced protection and rejection o f both subcutaneous tumors and lung metastases in syngeneic C57BL/6 mice, including established tumors. Passive immunity produced coat color alterations but only in regenerating hairs. This system provides a model for autoimmune vitiligo and shows that immune responses to melanocyte differentiation antigens can influence mouse coat color. Immune recognition o f a melanocyte differentiation antigen can reject tumors, providing a basis for targeting tissue autoantigens expressed on cancer.

متن کاملChemical composition and functional properties of two brown seaweeds from the Qeshm Island, Iran
Seaweeds have been introduced as an important sources of food and pharmaceutical active agents since last century. In this study, the chemical composition and functional characteristics of (common names) Nizamuddinia zanardinii and Iyengaria stellata, were investigated. The total carbohydrate and ash contents were the two most abundant components in these seaweeds but their crude lipid and fibe...

متن کاملComparative in silico analyses of proteins involved in serum resistance as promising vaccine candidates against Acinetobacter baumannii
Introduction: Acinetobacter baumannii as a Gram-negative coccobacillus has become a major cause of hospital-acquired infections. The virulence factors involved in serum resistance are important targets in the development of an effective vaccine against this pathogen. Our aim in this project was in silico analyses of A. baumannii proteins involved in serum resistance which could potentially be u...

Background: Infection with Escherichia coli O157:H7 rarely leads to bloody diarrhea and causes hemolytic uremic syndrome with renal failure that can be deadly dangerous. Intimin, translocated Intimin receptor (Tir), and enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) secreted protein A (EspA) proteins are the virulence factors expressed by locus of enterocyte effacement locus of EHEC. This bacterium needs Es...
